Tips
Smile during the vowel; you will find it much easier until you are used to it.
Tongue. Front, central – arching forwards. Tongue tip behind teeth; push the central part of the tongue forwards.
Lips. Slightly stretched throughout.

Watch for
- Don’t let it become э too far back: say bed /bɛd/, keep the jaw half-open.
- Keep the end voiced: say bed /bɛd/, not /bɛt/.
