Like a schwa, but with your lips rounded; you don’t need to move the tongue from a schwa.

Tongue. Mid-range, central.

Lips. Rounded and relaxed, but drawn inwards.

Examples

Watch for

• Short and relaxed, not Russian “у”: say full /fʊl/, not /fuːl/.
• Don’t mix it up with GOOSE: say look /lʊk/, not /luːk/.
• No extra vowel: say book /bʊk/, not /bʊkə/.
